There’s a new trend in town. The bags that match the clothes were seeing in many Spring 2013 ready-to-wear collections, from subtle colour coordinated ensembles at Elie Saab, Giambattista Valli and Chado Ralph Rucci, to full on pattern-on-pattern doubles at Louis Vuitton, Guy Laroche, Carven and Gucci. No longer it’s about shoes and bags, gloves and bags, belts and bag or any particular colour… Now your arm candy requires an identical twin of a dress or vice versa.
Although I can easily picture wearing the monochromatic mixes, I feel that it would take a very stylish girl to pull off the pattern-on-pattern combos. What do you think?

Gotta agree with you there! The matchy matchy look could look so wrong on somebody! Fab print and patterns though!

Apparently, nothing is too much this season, Little Rus! Well, I would love to wear pattern on pattern if I were to afford that Guy Laroche "sweets". I think this way it is easier, but I prefer to have the chance to compare different handbags to go with my outfits instead of just choosing a so matched handbag, it is more fun to search for a different handbag. Have a lovely weekend, Little Rus!
ReplyDeleteLove it <3
ReplyDeleteI love those Guy Laroche prints and colour combinations but as you say it takes confidence to wear this look and it certainly makes a statement.

Hi,dear Natalia!
ReplyDeleteI think that pattern-on-pattern is something new wave in fasion....and should be absolutely populair between fashionistas:-)))*
And for me,I would choose a monochromatic color for accessories,it brings more akcents to a whole outlook!
Or maybe I said too quickly?!.... And it would b change soon because of the tendensy:-)))*
Wish you lovely bright weekend,
Hugs,
***Violetta***
I'm not sure I'd do the double pattern, but I do think it's pretty cool how it basically just blends into the outfit!
ReplyDeleteThis is a very interesting post, I've never thought about it... I would like to mix those patterns with very basic items.....
ReplyDeleteI agree with you though is a trend that I really love to see! The Gucci look is stunning! Happy Friday dear, kisses! xo

I would love to pull off this trend! I think matching the bag to the clothes would be easy for any girl, if the pieces were of the same print, but it would definitely take a creative girl to put those pieces to use separately, to wear again in another outfit.

That can be a little tricky. There are a lot of factors involved for it to look right.
