Whenever Vogue Germany team stop concentrating on editorials that feature boobs, they come up with some absolutely gorgeous and very elegant stories that I want to frame and keep forever.
This one is featuring Inguna Butane photographed by Koto Bolofo is one of my absolute favourite. Every shot is like a painting or an image one could find in a copy of Harper’s Bazaar a few decades ago (I am thinking Avedon’s Dovima with elephants to be precise). And then comes the styling – the hats, the shoes and one of my most unforgettable Bottega Veneta dresses that I am still dreaming of.
I also really adore Inguna – she is so incredibly gorgeous, but has a kind of beauty that doesn’t intimidate, but rather makes you feel like you are holding your face under the sun rays feeling the glow and warm caress on your skin. I loved it when she was a Bottega Veneta girl, too. She really made those campaigns even more precious.

There really is a very vintage feel to this editorial - I don't read a lot of Vogue Germany so it may be that I just don't know their style, but if I'd had to guess, I definitely would have said this spread was from an older issue of Harper's; there's an approachable elegance to it, undoubtedly at least partly imbued by Inguna herself, that I find is quite rare in editorials these days - but that makes the ones that do have it all the more precious and wonderful :)

An indoor jungle, thats interesting, lol on your first paragraph, I feel that too many editorials these days are more about pushing sensuality rather than fashion and the art of photography. Love the image with the parrot and the one after.

Oh, my Goodness, Natalia, it's breathtaking! I can't get enough of it. Timeless photography. It has an elegance that's so rare in today's fashion photography. I bet every person who would be asked to choose between this kind of pictorial and a regular one of the present day, would choose the first one. Is what fashion magazines are selling really what customers want? I'm not among them and none of the persons I know are. Inguna is beautiful and she has such a presence. I think I have to re-run this story soon on my blog too. :) Your Monday editorials are such a treat.
ReplyDeleteWaht cool photos - I love the animals in them!

ReplyDeleteWow, this is amazing! Great writing too. I want to save some of these photos because they're so different and beautiful. And this model is lovely, you're right! Thanks for the introduction!
ReplyDeleteThe vintage feel is undeniable, and love the use of animals in the editorial. I like that they're not over edited, as so many are these days.. Another aspect that makes it look older than what it is.

What a striking editorial! I like how elegantly artful it is and the fact that it doesn't look like the typical fashion spreads we're all so used to seeing most of the time.

She is gorgeous Natalia! These photos do look like paintings and works of art. I had to chuckle at your boob comment. You are so funny. Wishing you a wonderful week doll. My ice cream coin purse came! Can't wait to show it to you. It's been so chilly lately, I haven't wanted any ice cream. LOL
